Mirror Mirror

You are splendid! Did you know that about yourself? Splendid in every way. Go to the mirror and look at yourself. Look yourself straight in the eyes. What do you see? What are the thoughts towards yourself? Do you see hair that is too short, too frizzy, too nappy, too straight, or entirely the wrong color? Or do you see hair in places where you feel that you shouldn't have hair at all?! Are you looking at untamed eyebrows, or scared skin? Do you see chipped nails, fat rolls, or imperfect teeth? Sisters, what do you see? What mirror are you looking in? Whose eyes are you seeing with?

Do you see how splendid you are? No? Well, most of the time I don't see myself that way either. I daily fight off feelings of inadequacy, and insecurity. If I let them, my feelings, and thoughts will quickly lead me to a place of solitude and darkness.

Sisters, daughters, mothers, friends...NOW IS THE TIME TO BELIEVE IN WHO YOU REALLY ARE. I am a warrior princess, and I whole heartily believe that! I am strong, a protector, and a nurturer. These are gifts from God that I use to worship Him and to serve those around me.

WHO ARE YOU? You see sisters, the Word of God is our mirror. Look in your mirror, and tell me what you see. What does this mirror say about you?

You are lovely! You are a life giver. You are more than. You are not weak, but you stand and live in strength that only comes from The King. You have the mind of Christ. Do not ever believe you are stupid. You are worth waiting for. You are the crown of creation. You are more beautiful than all the stars in sky. You are powerful and fierce. You are dangerous. You are a deadly weapon. You are tender. You are fiercely loved, and thought of. God dreams for you. He intercedes for you. You are a bride! You are royalty, a Princess of the Most High God. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SETTLE! You are uniquely designed, and carefully put together.

You see, it doesn't matter how others see you, and sometimes most of all, it doesn't matter how you see yourself. What matters is the truth about who you are. And God is truth. Know God and know the truth about yourself.

This world is in desperate need of our gifts and our strength. We are an answer to a problem. Not THE answer, but an answer.  What are we doing with our gifts, and our strength? How are we treating and caring for each other? Are we embracing each other, and bearing up each others load? Are we encouraging, and challenging each other, and loving each other? Or are we so caught up in our insecurities that we are intimidated by each other? Are we giving each other the stank eye and coveting what the other has? Are we gossiping and tearing each other down? SISTERS! WE ARE NOT EACH OTHERS ENEMY! The devil is our enemy! He is out to utterly obliterate us...and we have got to fight! We will not fight like men or in our own strength. We are women! WE WILL FIGHT LIKE GIRLS AND IN THE POWER OF THE MOST HIGH GOD!

So let us take up the Sword of Truth and run toward the battle! It's already won! Victory is ours because victory belongs to our Lord!

We don't have to be afraid of each other or compete against each other. It's time to embrace. It's time to take hands. It's time to love.

We need each other, and the world needs us. Sisters it's time to be fully awake and to FIGHT LIKE GIRLS!
